Our since hope is that 2021 will bring peace, health and happiness to all.  Praying that the vaccine will bring us closer to life as we used to know it.  Happy New Year and may God bring many blessings in 2021.

Update December 30, 2020

We have completed testing this week and there are no positive resident or staff results.  Testing will continue for staff and residents again next week due to the positive staff result last week.  Testing of staff continues twice a week due to Lancaster County's high positivity rate of 13.8%. We have just received confirmation of our vaccine clinics.  Our first staff and resident clinic will be held on 2/1/2021.  Please make sure that you have returned your consents if you wish for your loved one to receive the vaccine.   Our staff have been making calls to those who have not returned the consent form.

Update December 24, 2020

Testing for this week has been completed.  We received one positive resident test result.  The resident has no symptoms. All other resident and employee results were negative.  The resident who tested positive was moved to the isolation unit. Families were called today by Social Service staff with an update.  Employees have also been notified of the positive test result.  The phone line has been updated with the current status.  We will continue testing all residents for the next 14 days and all staff twice weekly.  We have not yet received dates for the vaccine clinics but will notify you when we do.   Wishing you and your families a safe and enjoyable Holiday.

Update December 20, 2020

The testing for last week has been completed and there was one asymptomatic staff member that tested positive. The staff member was sent home and will return after the quarantine period ends.  We will be testing all residents for the next 14 days due to the positive staff test result.  Additionally, we continue to test staff twice a week due to the high positivity rating in Lancaster County.   This week, the county is at a 14% positivity rating. We are expecting to hear from Walgreen's to schedule our vaccine clinics.  Packets have been mailed to residents and responsible parties to obtain consent.  Employee education and consents are being obtained.  We are very hopeful that we will soon receive the vaccine so that we can start to get back to normal.  We will be contacting you as soon as we have details.

We have continued universal testing of residents and twice weekly testing of staff this week.  There was one new staff member that tested positive during this week's universal testing and that individual is out of work for quarantine.  A second staff member who developed symptoms outside of work, was tested outside of the facility and received a positive test result.  All resident test results are negative this week.  We will continue universal testing of residents through the next fourteen days.  Staff testing will continue twice weekly due to the high positivity rate in Lancaster County. Today, Lancaster County has a positivity rate of 14.8%.     This has been an extremely challenging year dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.  As you may know, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has found a COVID-19 vaccine to be safe and effective.  This vaccine has gone through testing and clinical trials to ensure it meets the highest safety standards.    We have partnered with an appro

Update December 7, 2020

The employee test result from last week was confirmed positive by molecular test.  This employee has not had symptoms and remains out of work.  Testing of residents and employees will continue for the next 14 days.  There were no other positive results reported last week.

Update December 3, 2020

We are in the process of testing employees and residents this week.  One employee had a positive test result with the rapid point of care antigen test. When using the rapid point of care tests, if an individual without symptoms tests positive, we are required to complete a molecular test to confirm the positive result.  This employee did not have symptoms so we have followed up with a molecular test.  The employee will remain off work while we await the results.  This can take more than 48 hours.  An update will be posted when the test results are returned.  There are no positive resident cases.  Residents and employees will continue to be tested for the next fourteen days if the test result returns as a confirmed positive. The facility has made room changes today to plan for potential resident positive cases given the increase in community spread.  Residents and families who were affected by the room changes were informed of the reason for the moves by Social Service staff.  Everyone
