Update December 20, 2020

The testing for last week has been completed and there was one asymptomatic staff member that tested positive. The staff member was sent home and will return after the quarantine period ends.  We will be testing all residents for the next 14 days due to the positive staff test result.  Additionally, we continue to test staff twice a week due to the high positivity rating in Lancaster County.   This week, the county is at a 14% positivity rating.

We are expecting to hear from Walgreen's to schedule our vaccine clinics.  Packets have been mailed to residents and responsible parties to obtain consent.  Employee education and consents are being obtained.  We are very hopeful that we will soon receive the vaccine so that we can start to get back to normal.  We will be contacting you as soon as we have details.

The Lancaster County positivity rate this week is down to 0.8%.  We continue to do monthly testing of non-vaccinated staff.  There are no positive test results.  We continue to follow CDC, CMS and DOH guidance for infection prevention which includes screening of all individuals entering the facility, wearing required PPE, hand washing, wiping down surfaces and providing on-going education/reminders to staff and residents regularly. Update April 15, 2020

As of today, we have 7 confirmed positive resident cases and 8 confirmed staff cases.  Three of the staff have already returned to work.  Daily updates will be posted here to keep you informed as things change.   Additionally, we have received guidance from an educational webinar with the National Institutes of Health regarding how long the virus is believed to remain on surfaces such as paper, cardboard, mail, etc... As an added precaution, any packages that are brought in to the facility will be  isolated for 24 hours before being sent to the resident.  Mail will be held and isolated for 24 hours before being distributed to the residents. Families bringing laundry or clothing into the facility will leave the bag of clothing outside the double doors.  Staff will hold the laundry in isolation for 24 hours before taking it to the resident.   Staff who order food from outside for delivery will be required to meet the delivery vendor ...

March 9, 2021

 We have completed the weekly testing and all resident and staff results this week are negative. This concludes the universal testing required from the last positive employee result on 2/21/21.  We will now resume weekly testing of employees.  Scheduled indoor visits will resume tomorrow.  All visits are scheduled in advance with our Therapeutic Recreation Department.  Thank you for your continued patience and we look forward to seeing you in person again!
