Update October 9 2020

We have completed universal testing again following a positive employee test result that we received on 9/27/20 from the 9/24 test date.  All residents and employees have been tested and there were no new positive test results.  We will be moving back into Step 2 of the reopening plan as outlined by the PA Department of Health.   Residents have been eating in the dining rooms with appropriate distancing and infection control measures in place. They have been participating in small group activities with no more than five residents in a group with social distancing, hand hygiene and masking which is permitted in Step 1.  In Step 2, we will be allowing residents to participate in activities with no more than 10 residents to a group with social distancing, hand hygiene and masking.  We have continued with family visits outdoors while in Step 1.  We will continue with visits as planned and will allow indoor visits in our neutral zone areas depending on weather.  Please continue to coordinate your visits with Lindsay Black, Director of Therapeutic Recreation.

As reported previously, we will be testing according to CMS and PA DOH guidance based on county positivity ratings.  As of 10/5/2020, the positivity rate in Lancaster County was 3.8% per the PA DOH website.  According to PA DOH guidance, counties with a positivity rating of less than 5% have a low level of COVID-19 activity.  Therefore, it is not recommended to conduct routine testing of residents. We will test any resident who presents with symptoms.  It is recommended that we conduct routine testing of staff members every four weeks.  We will move to this schedule effective immediately. Our screening and monitoring of staff and residents is on-going.  Employees are wearing masks and eye protection throughout the facility as directed by PA DOH. Staff who work in the Yellow Zone (considered potential exposure, i.e. new admissions or readmissions) are required to wear full PPE including gowns with each resident contact.

Please continue to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  Have a nice weekend!
