Update May 1 2020

We received notification today of three confirmed positive resident COVID-19 results and one new staff member.  There are five resident tests and one staff test pending.
Everton Fider started this week as the new administrator.  I will be remaining here full time to work with, assist and support Everton and the team as we continue our efforts to get through the pandemic.
The Department of Health reported 1208 new cases in PA today bringing the statewide total to 46,971.  Lancaster County added 65 new cases bringing the county total positive cases to 1820.  There are 27 nursing or personal care homes reporting 406 confirmed positive resident cases  and 100 confirmed positive employee cases.

The Lancaster County positivity rate this week is down to 0.8%.  We continue to do monthly testing of non-vaccinated staff.  There are no positive test results.  We continue to follow CDC, CMS and DOH guidance for infection prevention which includes screening of all individuals entering the facility, wearing required PPE, hand washing, wiping down surfaces and providing on-going education/reminders to staff and residents regularly. Update April 15, 2020

As of today, we have 7 confirmed positive resident cases and 8 confirmed staff cases.  Three of the staff have already returned to work.  Daily updates will be posted here to keep you informed as things change.   Additionally, we have received guidance from an educational webinar with the National Institutes of Health regarding how long the virus is believed to remain on surfaces such as paper, cardboard, mail, etc... As an added precaution, any packages that are brought in to the facility will be  isolated for 24 hours before being sent to the resident.  Mail will be held and isolated for 24 hours before being distributed to the residents. Families bringing laundry or clothing into the facility will leave the bag of clothing outside the double doors.  Staff will hold the laundry in isolation for 24 hours before taking it to the resident.   Staff who order food from outside for delivery will be required to meet the delivery vendor ...

March 9, 2021

 We have completed the weekly testing and all resident and staff results this week are negative. This concludes the universal testing required from the last positive employee result on 2/21/21.  We will now resume weekly testing of employees.  Scheduled indoor visits will resume tomorrow.  All visits are scheduled in advance with our Therapeutic Recreation Department.  Thank you for your continued patience and we look forward to seeing you in person again!
